I usually go to my fav spot, sammys romanian steak house (lower east side NYC). Medium rare, prime skirt steaks. I figured I'd stop by blue planet Sunday night with my girlfriend and had the prime skirt grilled. Let me just say, i ordered it medium rare as always and it was as perfect as a steak can get. It was juicy, not too bloody, cooked perfectly in the center with enough tenderness. I swear i was in heaven. DEFF go here again. Prices are awesome too, compared to some midtown spots i have been to; that charge double a plate, its actually no comparison. !!!! --Alex A. Brooklyn, NY
BPG is directly across the street from the WTC memorial, so you would expect that they wouldn't have to work to hard to grab business. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted at the front door and whisked away to a window seat in the bar area. Happy hour must have just been ending, as there was a large group of people at the bar and in the tables surrounding, but they cleared out within minutes of my seating. Once the Happy Hour crowd cleared out, there were only about 4 or 5 other parties, so it was pretty quiet and nice.
It's a small place, but it is intimate and romantically lit...candles, low-lighting, etc. A very nice and beautiful setting with lots of big windows and low music playing in the background.
The service was fantastic and waiters, waitresses and manager, alike, all waited on me at some point during the evening.
Unfortunately, I'm a newly-born vegetarian, so all of the meat dishes looked fantastic. If I had anything bad to say, it would be that there aren't a lot of vegetarian choices on the menu, but, with that said, the dish that I did order was fantastic. I had a great glass of Malbec while I checked out the menu and decided on the Mushroom Ravioli. While waiting for the dish to arrive, I was served up some fantastic toasted bread...super toasty, crusty and soft in the middle; I could have eaten another basket. The mushroom ravioli was fantastic! It was the perfect amount of food and the mushroom sauce was delightful.
Afterwards, they brought the dessert menu over and I grabbed one of the several different types of Gelato...a Triple Espresso...also fantastic. In addition to the Gelato, they had a bunch of other desserts that I would have loved to try...Cheesecakes, etc.
All in all, it was a very pleasant evening...relaxing, not rushed and with delicious food. Exactly what I needed to end my trip.

We are visiting NYC and staying in a hotel in the Financial District. We found this restaurant recommended on Yelp and gave it a try. It was So Good. We shared the Greek Salad, which was delicious and a good size to share. Then, I had the beef stroganoff and my husband had shrimp dish, served over saffron risotto with orange gremolata. I Loved my beef stroganoff. It was made with supremely tender pieces of beef steak. And I do mean tender- not chewy at all. This was accompanied with thinly sliced mushrooms in a mild, creamy sauce, The dish was completed with mashed potatoes, which were fine but in no way the star of the meal. My husband was very pleased with his dish as well.
Based on this experience, I highly recommend this restaurant. Service was quick and competent. -- Leeann N. Ellicott City, MD
I came into the restaurant close to their closing time with two friends without any exceptions but was surprised to find a great cocktail menu and wonderful food. We were all happy with the dishes we ordered especially the beef stroganoff and schnitzel. The prices were very fair for the portions and freshness of the dishes we received.
It's a hidden jewel downtown and highly recommended for any time of the day. --Ori M. Manhattan, NY
